You and Me on a Comeback

When the organization gets up and running we are going to need:


Level 1 Volunteers: (General Help / Assistants)-


Quality time assistants-
willing to play games or have some down time with the patients.

Support groups- 
cancer survivors and others looking to join in on support meetings.

General Help-
wanting to participate in the Comeback Center by serving food (cooking food according to guidelines), cleaning, or donating food, money or equipment.



Driving-
helping the patient and/or family with rides during their organizational time.

Musicians-
Open Mic, small sets, uplifting music.



Exercise assistants-
willing to walk the patient through pre-approved and pre-designed basic motor skill exercises to place the survivor back to previous strength conditions.

Level 2 Volunteers (Pre-Professionals/Grad Students/Day Care Workers)-



Graduate Students/Students in Training-
from a wide variety of fields who are interested in working with the patients. Possibly fulfilling rotations. (Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Nutrition/Diet, Psychology, Massage Therapy, etc)



Child care assistants-
willing to watch over a patient's children during organizational time or during the first stages of returning to the work force.

Survivor Meeting Leaders-
person with experience in survivor group meetings, and can lead discussions.

Level 3 Volunteers (Professionals)-
 


Cooks/Chefs-
willing to prepare healthy snacks and meals for the patient or willing to put on cooking classes.




Group activity leaders-
such as dance teachers, business teachers, Bible teachers, librarians, YOGA instructors, artists, etc.




Certified Psychologists-
for the family and children as well as someone who specializes in the after effects of cancer and how treatments affect the patient and the family.

Physical Therapists/ Nurses/ Counselors/ Athletic Trainers/ Nutritionists/ Massage Therapists

Financial Advisors

Beauticians and Cosmetics



Spiritual counselors-
that know the foundations of Christianity and can be spiritual support for the patient with prayer and be able to use the example of Jesus to help with guidance and establishment of loving one's neighbor and forgiveness.

Part of the going appeal to some of the volunteer work is on a project or individual patient basis (Mentor type), so a volunteer may only have an assigned amount of time for volunteering based on each patient's need (could be one month or 4-8 months depending on each patients planned organizational time)
